Installation
- 1. Download and open LoopbackMixer.dmg
- 2. Run LoopbackMixer-Installer.pkg
- 3. Follow the on-screen steps and enter your admin password when prompted
- 4. Click Restart at the end
- 5. Loopback Mixer 16x2 appears in your audio device list
Setting up in Ableton Live
- Open Preferences → Audio → set Audio Output Device to Loopback Mixer 16x2
- Open Output Config and enable the stereo pairs you need
- Play audio — sound comes from your speakers or headphones immediately
Setting up in other DAWs
- Select Loopback Mixer 16x2 as the audio output device in your DAW's audio preferences. Everything else is handled automatically.
Buffer Size & Latency
- Smaller buffer = lower latency. Larger buffer = more stability on heavy projects.
- If you hear crackling, increase the buffer size one step at a time until it stops.
Uninstalling
- Open the DMG, run Uninstaller.pkg, enter your admin password, and restart.
